Make Your Event Stages Safe

Event staging in Las Vegas is an effective way of accentuating your important displays and presentations as well as providing greater visibility. Stages also provide a number of safety concerns and logistic challenges, and event hosts can take steps to minimize danger.

Post Clear Notifications

Do not expect attendees to know your rules or to appreciate basic stage etiquette. If people are having a good time or are interested in something, they may not even recognize any potential dangers. Large signs with clear, concise text are best. Choose colors that stand out in your particular environment. Red on black is a good choice when in doubt. Signs should indicate boundaries as well as access points, services and other features.

Install Stage Barriers and Guards

Rented stage equipment will usually come with barriers, guards, fences and other safety objects that you can use to prevent accidents and control access. Use barriers to create a perimeter around the stage but also to cordon off equipment areas, assign standing and seating areas and to control the flow of movement to the stage, away from the stage and to and from nearby facilities like bathrooms.

Keep Stages as Low to the Ground as Possible

Never choose a stage height that is higher than necessary. Seek a balance between visibility, presentation, logistics and safety. A stage that is just a couple of feet off the ground can have a great effect but provides very little risk. A stage that is six-feet high can be seen from much further out, but it also presents the risk for serious injuries and equipment damage.

Keep Your Stage as Clear as Possible

Depending on your site, business and purposes, there are various rules you will need to adhere to, and these come from Occupational Safety and Health Administration, your insurance company, the site owner and so forth. Follow those rules, but on top of them, be sure that only necessary people and equipment are onstage at any time.
